CLASSES MEET IN-PERSON, MONDAY-FRIDAY
La Cañada High School, 4463 Oak Grove, La Canada, CA 91011
The La Cañada Flintridge Educational Foundation (LCFEF) offers a comprehensive, five-week summer school program in support of the La Cañada Unified School District, the community of La Cañada Flintridge and students in the surrounding communities. Enrollment is open to La Cañada Unified School District (LCUSD) and non-LCUSD high school students.
The LCFEF Summer School provides opportunities for students to:
Work ahead to open time in the fall for an elective course
Strengthen skills in a particular area to make the workload during the regular school year more manageable
Remediate a course
LCFEF Summer School is committed to providing a high quality, rigorous, comprehensive curriculum that allows students to move seamlessly into the next sequential course.

Non-LCUSD students are welcome; we do require approval of the course of choice by the home district prior to the start of summer school with the submission of a credit verification form.
Course Pace
An LCFEF Summer School course consists of one full year of academic learning presented over a five-week, five-hour per day session.
Classes move quickly and students are generally best served by taking classes in subject areas where they are academically strong.
Students who are remediating a class will have an advantage in that they will be “reviewing” material already learned.
Because of the intensive nature of the coursework, students must expect to spend considerable out-of-class time doing homework in order to succeed. For that reason, no more than three (3) absences will be allowed; otherwise credit for a full-year class will not be earned. More detail about absences is provided in our policies under Attendance.
Content
LCFEF Summer School curriculum is based upon La Cañada High School regular school year programs, uses the same textbook and materials, and utilizes a similar instructional time and homework load as LCHS.
Approach
The intimate size of the program permits daily observation of each and every class by summer school principals as well as regular feedback from principals to teachers and from teachers to parents.
Other Resources
LCFEF Summer School students have access to the La Cañada High School Information Resource Center (IRC), computer facilities and science labs. Daily food service is arranged through local restaurants and caterers at a reasonable cost to students.
